Description

This buffer has been designed by Professor Martin Evans and his colleagues in Cambridge exclusively for Cambio Limited to optimise and improve the yield of DNA amplified by PCR. Typically customers have reported two-fold increases in yields of PCR products.

This buffer contains amongst other components, special reagents which enhance the binding of the polymerase to its substrates. It is ready-made, specifically to avoid any possible contamination which could confuse the results of PCR amplification. Customers are assured of a reliable, regular and reproducible source of the buffer, which is available with or without magnesium.

Technical Information

This PCR optimised buffer is supplied at x10 concentration. The pH (at 25°C) is nominally 8.00 with a final magnesium concentration of 1.5mM. A final nucleotide concentration of 200µM should be used together with up to 0.5µg of each primer. The magnesium-free version of PARR buffer allows titrations to be performed with magnesium ions whilst at the same time adjusting the nucleotide concentration.

Note: magnesium should be added directly to the reaction mixture at the required concentration and not to the stock PARR buffer.
