Sodium hydroxide is widely used in biochemistry. It is a basic solution and has the ability to raise pH of chemical solutions, for example it useful for neutralization of acids.
Medicago’s Sodium Hydroxide Reagent is 99.99% pure and supplied as pre-weighed pellets in sealed pouches. One pouch gives 1000 ml of 5 M sodium hydroxide when dissolved in deionized water.

Directions for use
Empty one pouch of the NaOH reagent in a laboratory flask or beaker placed on a magnetic stirrer. Add 300 ml of deionized water and stir the solution for a few minutes. Adjust the volume up to 1000 ml, stir until full dissolution and the solution is ready to use.
Shipping and storage
NaOH reagent is shipped at room temperature. Store the pouches in a dry place at room temperature. Shelf life is three years after production date.
