Lysine-C endopeptidase (from Lysobacter enzymogenes) is a serine protease with high specificity for the cleavage of peptide bonds on the carboxyl side of lysine.

Chemical Modification

Highly purified enzyme preparations are modified chemically by a process proprietary to Princeton Separations. This modification renders the enzyme resistant to autolysis and stabilises enzymic activity. The modified enzyme retains 70-90% of its activity after 6 hours incubation at 30°C in reaction buffer and 65-80% of its activity after 24 hours under the same conditions.

Benefits

  • < 5% autolysis/24 hours, pH 8.0, 30°C
  • Enzyme is supplied lyophilised in 3 x 5µg vials in an activated, ready-to-use formulation for 'user friendly' applications in protein sequencing
  • Consistency of activity levels from lot to lot for reproducible digestions
  • High specificity - free from other known endopeptidases
  • Convenient package sizes matched to customer needs
