Cell cultures must be screened periodically for possible mycoplasmal contamination. The use of different methods is recommended to ensure detection (e.g. MycoSCOUT™). Detection is necessary when working with both established cell lines and primary material.

Removal of mycoplasmas

A variety of methods for removing mycoplasmas are available on the market. Most of these methods are complicated, expensive or do not guarantee subsequent absence of mycoplasmas.

If mycoplasmas have been detected in your cell culture, the highly effective antibiotic MycoRAZOR™ eliminates the contamination rapidly and efficiently.

MycoRAZOR™ is active at low concentrations for a broad range of mycoplasma subspecies. It acts on protein synthesis mechanism by interfering with ribosome translation as well as with transcription.

Recommended final concentration: 20 ml/l
