Metafectene™ Transfection Reagent
Metafectene™
| Catalogue number | Pack size |
Highly efficient Transfection Reagent for Mammalian Cells developed by Biontex and based on RMA-Technology (Repulsive Membrane Acidolysis).
These lipids ensure easy entry of DNA into cells by condensing DNA into compact structures. Furthermore, endosome buffering is enabled to protect against osmotic shock and destabilisation of the DNA-coated lipid membrane can be achieved.
The high efficiency of Metafectene makes it a valuable tool for gene delivery or gene transfer experiments. It is provided as a ready-to-use solution. In contrast to many other transfection reagents Metafectene shows no serum inhibition, which makes it suitable for transfecting sensitive cell lines. 1ml is usually sufficient for 50-200 transfections on 35mm dishes (6-well plates) or 15 to 70 transfections on 60mm dishes.
Cells which have been successfully transfected with Metafectene include: kidneys from human, porcine, baby and Syrian hamster and monkey. Human epidermal, breast, cervical, hepatoblastoma, T-cell leukaemia and lung carcinoma, mouse bone marrow, Chinese hamster ovary, human uroepithelial cells, mouse macrophage and adherent fibroblastoid, rat adrenal cytoma and hepatocytes and porcine smooth muscle cells.
Storage:
Storage at 4°C for more than a year is no problem in respect to transfection efficiency. It has also been shown to be stable for weeks at 40°C.
