Metafectene™ Pro

METAFECTENE™ PRO is the latest generation transfection reagent setting a new benchmark in mammalian cell transfection.

It's novel composition combines Biontex' RMA-Technology ("Repulsive Membrane Acidolysis") with a new Toxicity Optimization module. (TOP-Technology)

Decreasing the toxic effects is one of the leading aims in the transfection technology. In-vitro applications normally benefit from lower toxicity but in-vivo applications must. The development of our TOP-Technology furthermore fits another great advantage: it moderately destabilizes the DNA-lipid-complex and potentiates the depletive access for the RMA!

Both techniques are excellently coordinated step-by-step. So this new product development consequently ensures the required release of genetic material in the cytoplasma and finally guarantees the availability of much more genetic material for uptake into the cell nucleus.

Previous data support the fact that at least equivalent results can be achieved with METAFECTENE™ PRO in comparison with METAFECTENE™, but multiple enhancement of efficiency can be obtained with moderate- or hard-to-transfect cell lines.

METAFECTENE™ PRO is provided as a ready-to-use solution. It shows no serum inhibition, which makes it a reagent of choice for transfecting sensitive cell lines.

Depending on the cell line, 1ml of METAFECTENE™ PRO is sufficient for 50-200 transfections on 35 mm dishes (6-well plates) or 15 to 70 transfections on 60mm dishes.
