DOTAP™

A well established transfection reagent for mammalian cells Biontex supply DOTAP™ a ready to use transfection reagent. DOTAP™ is a liposome formulation of a monocationic lipid (N-[1-(2,3-Dioleoyloxy)]-N,N,N-trimethylammonium propane methylsulphate in sterile water (concentration 1mg/ml).

There are a large number of reports in literature using this reagent (in vitro & in vivo). It combines reliability and efficiency with low costs. 1ml of DOTAP™ is usually sufficient for 50-100 transfections on 35mm dishes (6-well plates). DOTAP™ transfects nucleic acids both in the presence and absence of serum.

If stored at 4°C it is stable for at least 6 months

Applications

• The following cell types have been successfully transfected with DOTAP™: kidneys from human, porcine, Syrian hamster and monkey. Human epidermal, hepatocellular, breast, cervical, colonic, hepatoblastoma, T-cell leukaemia and lung carcinoma, mouse testicular and adrenal tumour, connective tissue, primary and embryonic cells, chicken liver, human uroepithelial cells, mouse macrophage and adherent fibroblastoid, rat primary and thoracic aortic cells, hepatocytes, hepatomas and monkey kidney cells.
